Ban Private Funding of Elections

In 2020, Mark Zuckerberg funneled over $400 million through the Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) and similar organizations directly into local election offices. These 'Zuckerbucks' were distributed disproportionately to heavily Democratic jurisdictions, effectively creating a two-tier election system. Private money bought ballot drop boxes, funded ballot harvesting operations, and paid election workers' salaries — giving outside billionaires unprecedented influence over the mechanics of our elections. Election administration is a core government function that must be funded by taxpayers and accountable to voters, not to private donors with political agendas.

“We the People demand a complete ban on all private, nonprofit, or billionaire funding of election offices, election equipment, and election operations at every level of government. No outside money — whether from CTCL, tech billionaires, or any private entity — should influence how our elections are run. Election administration must be funded exclusively through public appropriations and remain accountable to the people.”
